Myra has advanced secondary bone cancer and is steadfastly planning her own funeral. She is also determined to make sure her surviving family improve their relationships with one another. This proves much trickier than she imagined with two daughters who are the polar opposite of each other and a husband who “doesn’t do problems”. This play of family dynamics and relationships, wonderfully written by Laura Wade, shows that humour and lighter moments can be glimpsed in the middle of gloomy inevitability.
